When: April 27th | 12:30-3pm
Instructor: Shireena RYT-500 (she/her)
Ever wondered how although you have the strength and the practice to get into these fun arm balance poses you still feel like something is missing?? You’re so close and you know you can but you are not?
Crow Pose, or Bakasana, is likely the first arm balance you saw, heard about or have been asked to try randomly in class. It is a pose that sparks people’s interest in arm balances and from there stems a variety of crow variations. Crow may look easy, and some may argue that, but it demands mental and physical give and take until the perfect blend gives you that equilibrium and sustainability. Shireena will be hands on and make sure every body can elevate their crow to the next level. Practice is a work in progress, and Shireena always says “there is no end to a pose.” After all, a safe physical and mental challenge can only enhance your cellular growth and your self awareness.
This two and a half hour workshop is your chance to dig deep and learn, play and explore new ways to connect and instruct your body. This workshop will provide you ample drills, knowledge and exercises to access the core strength, flexibility, mechanics and body awareness needed to safely access all your favorite arm balances such as crow, side crow, grass hopper, flying pigeon and more!
With the use of props, walls and blankets, you will explore different ways to get into arm balances and find the best route for your body. Shireena will offer diligent instruction, demonstration, and explanation, leaving you with a deeper understanding of these poses and ways to work on them at home! Everything starts with a strong foundation, and challenging your physical and mental state only increases self awareness and cellular growth!
*This is open to returning and new attendees as an opportunity to work on your skill and new postures!
