Embodied Insight Yoga

Tune the body and mind with deeply healing somatic movement sequenced to help release long-held patterns of tension and torsion in the hips, spine, shoulders, and neck. This unique class begins with gentle rocking and undulating movements done on the ground ~ flushing the body of fatigue, rehydrating tissues, and assisting in re-regulating the body’s stress response. Yogis then move through a flow of standing, balancing, and seated postures to build resilience and strength in the hips and core before relaxing breath exercises and a deep rest in savasana. All levels and bodies welcome with modifications and alternative options given, along with the encouragement to adapt what is offered to suit you.

Many props are available to support you in this practice, including chairs. The intention of this class is to be an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming space for all bodies and all people wanting to embrace rest in their lives. We hope to build an inventory of care practices together, for both self and collective, to hold us gently in a society that does not always support our rest. Together, we will dream up our own shelters in the storm.
