Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion, is one of the four traditional paths of yoga alongside Karma, Jnana, and Raja Yoga. Rooted in love, connection, and surrender, Bhakti invites us to move beyond the physical practice and into the heart-centered essence of yoga. In this 3-hour introductory workshop, we will explore the history and philosophy of Bhakti Yoga, tracing its roots through ancient yogic traditions and devotional practices. Together, we will learn about the power and meaning of mantra, including how sound, repetition, and intention can become tools for meditation, connection, and transformation. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of commonly used Sanskrit mantras, their translations, and how they are woven into spiritual practice. The workshop will conclude with a community kirtan. Kirtan is a devotional call-and-response chanting experience accompanied by music and collective energy. No prior experience with Bhakti, chanting, or yoga is necessary. This workshop is open to anyone curious about the devotional side of yoga and looking to connect more deeply to themselves, community, and the practice as a whole.
